Summer (Easter to October) 7.30am – 9.30pm
Winter (October to Easter) 9am – 5pm

As a working yard, occasionally it may be necessary to close the yard gates at short notice to protect visitors from dangerous operations. During these times, the footpath on Cumberland Road provides an alternative route.

VISITOR CENTRE AND UNDERFALL CAFE

Closed on Mondays (except Bank Holidays)
Summer (Easter to October) 9am – 4:30pm*
Winter (October to Easter) 9am – 4pm

*Café hours may vary, including some extended opening times in the summer and on weekends.

During periods where the main yard gates are closed for safety reasons, The Visitor Centre remains accessible via the Nova Scotia Place entrance gates.

GETTING TO THE YARD

FERRY

Bristol Ferry from Temple Meads and City Centre. Nearest stops to Underfall Yard are Nova Scotia Place or Cottage Inn. Visit their website and view the ferry timetable.

BUSES

Served by several Firstbus bus routes from Bristol City Centre, Metrobus M2 and Airport Flyer A1: Cumberland Basin/Cumberland Road stop.

Park and Ride from Portway or Long Ashton. Bristol Insight open top bus: SS Great Britain/Spike Island stop.

WALK

Approximately 1.5 miles from City Centre via Harbourside Walk (follow blue signs)

PARKING

There is no parking at Underfall Yard for visitors: the car park is for permit-holders only.  There is limited parking for disabled visitors. Restricted pay and display is available in the local area.
