Julie takes over from Nicola Dyer, our former Project Director, who has been overseeing the £4million Heritage Lottery Fund capital works since commencement. Julie is passionate about the yard and joins us after 18 years at the ss Great Britain. Sarah Murray, Community, Learning & Volunteering Officer
Sarah wants everyone to love the yard as much as she does. She has overseen the development of the Visitor Centre and now manages its daily operations. Rachel Gollin, Workshop Manager
Rachel is new to the yard and is liking what she sees. She is in charge of all things machinery and delights in getting things running. Contact Rachel about machinery, the Workshops, hydraulic pumps – anything to do with engineering.

Clare Worrall, Bookkeeper
Clare has over 10 years of experience working at Underfall Yard and is dedicated to making things run smoothly. Contact Clare about invoices and payments.


Our amazing volunteers help us to run the Visitor Centre, gather stories and memories of the yard, take gorgeous photographs, lead tours galore and much more besides. We have nearly 60 volunteers helping us and we are always in need of more engaged, interested and enthusiastic people to join the team.


Underfall Yard is home to skilled maritime businesses and organisations offering a wide range of services relating to: boat building, rigging, blacksmithing, marine engineering, marine safety, maritime training and maritime leisure pursuits.
