Underfall Yard volunteer Andrew Radford has been finding out about the latest success for Star Yachts.

Win Cnoops, owner of Underfall Yard-based Star Yachts has had his Bristol 6 motor launch shortlisted for one of the categories in Classic Boat Magazine’s prestigious 15th annual Classic Boat awards.

These awards celebrate the best in the world of classic and traditional boatbuilding and restoration.  There are various classes which make up the awards featuring everything from antique restored sailing yachts to new, cutting edge, spirit-of-tradition yachts as well as restored and new powered vessels, this being where The Bristol 6 is one of the six nominees.

Star Yachts Bristol 6

A ‘Bristol 6’ in action.

The Bristol 6 was designed by Andrew Wolstenhome, a long standing collaborator with Win, since their creation of the Bristol 22 from which Star Yachts was founded.  The 6 is a 6.1metre motor launch built using a modern wood and composite construction and with a 57hp Nanni motor, offering speeds up to 20 knots.  Each vessel built to this design at Star Yachts will be a one-off giving the client plenty of scope for customising their boat.

The winner in each category in these Awards will be decided by a people’s vote on the website link below. Please consider casting a vote for the Bristol 6 in the ‘New Powered Vessel’ category to support to Win Cnoops and his team. Fingers crossed he’ll soon be bringing back the award to Underfall Yard!
